Elite Men at Manhattan Beach

Raul Frias

Gustavo Mendez

Adam Livingston

Jorge Alvarado

Brandon Gritters

The La Grange elite team were generally unhappy with their results from this race. Although they were in just about every break during the race, things just didn't work out in the end. Raul Frias was the top finisher in 22nd, after a 7th place in an earlier race. The La Grange team got mentioned in Velonews' coverage and are included some photos too..

Melinda Weiner wins State Championship

Melinda Takes the top step.

Melinda crosses the line alone.

Post-race chat with Morgan, Beatriz, Anna and Melinda.

Morgan, Gustavo Mendez, and Melinda at registration (below)

Melinda Weiner won the State Road Race Championship in Bakersfield with a breakaway 30 miles from the finish. After breaks by Morgan and then Anna, Melinda attacked after the feed zone and stayed away untill the finish. Not sure if she would make it to the end, she was helped by inspirational messages written on the ground near the top of the climb. She collapsed after finishing due to exaustion, only to be revived with the help of an ice cold Coke handed to her by Superfan.
